I love an outdoor New Orleans wedding — the courtyards, the oak trees, the light. I also don’t book one without a real rain plan, and I’d encourage you not to either.
It’s Not a Backup, It’s Part of the Plan
Louisiana weather doesn’t always give much notice. A solid rain plan isn’t a pessimistic afterthought — it’s a fully designed version of your day that you’d be just as happy with, ready to activate on a moment’s notice.
What a Real Rain Plan Includes
- A tenting quote secured in advance, not scrambled for the week of
- A decision deadline — usually 24–48 hours out — so vendors have time to execute
- Flooring and lighting that work for both the indoor and outdoor version
- A single point of contact (me) making the call, so you’re not the one deciding at 7am whether to move the ceremony
The Couples Who Skip This
Almost always regret it. A rushed, unplanned pivot on your wedding morning is stressful for everyone — you, your family, your vendors. A rain plan built months in advance turns a weather surprise into a non-event.
If you’re dreaming of an outdoor ceremony, let’s build the version of your day that works no matter what the sky does.
